I just recieved it today from Coppers, hooked it up and everything is working fine.it only shows a dead key of 4 watts and swings 12 watts. I would like to know how to make it swing a little more from about a 2 watt dead key to drive my Shooting Star 225

The best swing i get is from 3 watts swinging to 20watts..
All i had to do was turn the modulation pod all the way up, turn dead key down to 3 watts..

Do not remove aduio limiter even though some people say to do it, if you remove it, it WILL cause problems down the road that you don't even know is realted the clipping of limiter...
Have fun.. enjoy your radio..

p.s Im sure you have the channel modification done already, there are also clarifier mods out as well, but be carefull, i have came across 3 diffrent versions..

This is tooken word for word from ranger... Hopefully this will help....

May Tech Tip of the Monthe: Talk back is a popular subject! last year i mentioned the quick and simple fix for the TR-396/696/f ssb. This is a more elaborate version, with the abilitly to change the audio level A. remove d-75 B. Add jumper from jp25 to cathode of d-79 C. if the audio level is not loud enough replace r-221 with a 56k ohm.. Note: step c is not really necessary, as teh audio level is loud, but to some users it may not be loud enough..

take care and have fun..
