how hard is it to install a expo 100 kit in this radio??

Don't use the expo kit , jump pins 10 and/or pin 11 to ground on the PLL for channels. It is much more stable.

try to get onto the Uniden Grant XL Owners Group site, They have just about every mod for the XL, and they are well written and contain good diagrams

Google still has thexlclub.tripod.com cached, but without photos. I ran across it today in my internet travels. Just google the phrase "site:thexlclub.tripod.com" and there should be only one result. Under that result there will be a message that states:

"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 1 already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."

Click on the link "repeat the search with the omitted results included." It'll show you the individual pages that google has cached. Then you can click the "cached" link for each page.
