Thanks weakest station,,I have heard alot of good things about this radio. My wife got it for me for $25 at the Flying J where she works, a driver baught it and braught it back saying it wouldn`t work so since they can`t return radios they aren`t going to carry anymore they let her have it for $25. The radio comes on but it does have bad feedback on am transmit, not sure what that is all about. I think it is through the talkback so will have to mess around with it and see what happens. Thanks again.

Weakeststation

This is in reference to your post on "Sunday, May 04, 2003 - 05:37 am".

I'm not trying to be a smarta$$ or anything but I wanted to let you and everyone else know that it is INCORRECT to state that the mods for the Magnum DeltaForce are the same as the Magnum 357. They are completely different radios. The main board alone in the Delta is bigger than the whole M-357.

The M-357 is nothing more than a M-257 with a remote amplifier attached to it via harness for mounting in the trunk.

However, modifications for the M-257 and M-357 ARE the same since they ARE THE SAME RADIO except for the dual finals and heatsink that the M-257 has on the rear.

Be carefull of the mods you or anyone else is getting from Defpom's page about the Delta and the M-357. http://www.radiomods.co.nz/index.html. A lot of people send him mods and he will sometimes post them without verifying them first. I know that he is sometimes too busy or hasn't had that particular unit to test the mods for himself. But other than that, he has one of the best informative CB web sites on the Net. So, once again now and everyone say it with me. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RADIOS WITH COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MODIFICATIONS!!

FYI. Just about every "MOD" that the Copper Techs give on this forum have been tried and proven in one way or another by at least one of them. That's why it's SO COOL to have more than one Tech working on this forum. What one doesn't know, another one will. And if it hasn't been tried, they will simply say, "I haven't tried it".

I hope I didn't ruffle anyones feathers here. If I did, please forgive me. I'm sorry.

And if anyone cares to see what a real RF Limited Magnum 357 looks like, Email me at kc0gxz@aol.com and i'll send you a couple of pictures of it. 73s.

Jeff, kc0gxz.

Just a thought.

If this is happening only after the radio warms up, there may be some heat expansion somewhere and allowing two points to make connection.

Double check your solder work to be sure there is no solder joints connected together where they shouldn't be. If worse come to worse, you may have to disable the scan button. But at this point, I'm thinking that two solder joints are making contact with one another after a warm-up period.

Check your work thoroughly. Sooner or later you'll find the problem since it wasn't there before you changed the channel selector.

Maybe someone else on the forum has some ideas about this also. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you.

Jeff.

Nevets111,

If you cannot find help here on the problem also make a post in the Maunfacturers Question's area of the Forum.

By making a post there Mr. Lewis Owner of RF Limited / Magnum International will see it and may be able to be of help.

Lon
