I understand that there is a "viagra Board modification that would give a DX959 a nice, neat 40 above and 40 below the regular 40 channels with a simple flick of the switch. I hate the way the regular mod gives channels it a very disorganized manner and this sounds much better. What do you techs say to this? Do-able? costly? Thanks in advance.... |

The board is about $30 and they do work fine. |

Well you can put channels in with out the viagra board... Or put channels in with the viargra board... If the radio can take channels without the viagra board, i won't buy one to put in it... |

Thanks for the response tech671. As you can tell I've been doing a lot or research on this and that. The day to buy is drawing near and your attention will certainly be rewarded |

orion,i tried the viagra board in my dx2547 (same board) and i could NOT get the frequency back to center slot.i tried the cans on the main board and also the adjustment on the frequency board w/no avail unfortunately,i went back w/a slide switch configuration mounted underside of the radio.BUT,i'm like you,i don't like the hit& miss channels w/this mod! if i ever get the time, i'm gonna try the viagra board again, and maybe i can win this time around! good luck, let us know how she comes out in the end... Thanks Slim, the more I read about all the nonsense it takes to make an 11 meter into a 10, the more I think I should go from a 10 and make it cover 11. No worrying about 10khz mods, and slider mods and soldering, jumping from pin to pin.. Geez, what was I thinking |
