I have a texas ranger tr - 296 ( closely resembles a Cobra 148 GTL in basic outside looks )...need infor mation on tune - up ( also possible map showing where tr-24 is )

Ok, let's get the location of TR-24 first.

Turn radio upside down with front facing you.

1 ~ Remove bottom cover.
2 ~ Get ruler or tape measure.
3 ~ Place ruler between on/off & RF/SWR knobs.
4 ~ 2 inches back from chrome face plate and to the right of three(3)little blue cans you will find TR-24.

Tune-Up

AM Modulation: Cut collector of TR-24 or Remove

AM Power Adjust VR-10
SSB Power: Adjust VR-11
Transmitter Alignment: L47, L48, L46, L45, L38, "DO NOT TOUCH L36"
