Can anyone recommend a scanner that is modifiable for more features? My good friend has an old basic Uniden Bearcat and has sparked my interest in this hobby again. All the local police and fire rescue has moved into the 800Mhz range and use trunked systems,so I want to purchase a scanner that can cover it.I modified a clock radio that I have to pick up the aircraft band but I like scanners better because I don't have to manually search for stations.I should have never given away my old handheld unit, but I didn't think about that when I thought I was out of the hobby.J.C.B.
