Ok all you crystal collectors out there, I need your help. I am looking for a 23.730 MHz crystal. I want to replace the current 23.330 MHz crystal in my midland 23 channel am/ssb tranciever, model 13-892. This crystal is in charge of cb channels 1 through 4 and I want to replace it with the 23.730 MHz crystal so that I have channels 36, 37, 38, and 40. I know at one time these crystals were available. I have seen this modification done with the old HyGain 674B's (HyRange V). This radio is internally the same radio as the HyGain V. Any information would be greatly appreciated. 73's stickshift |

Thanks for the link scrapiron. I got the old crystal out and checked out Ken's for the new one. I'll have to build legs or install a crystal socket to compensate for the larger pins, but I believe that will work just fine. 73's stickshift |

Yeah you can add to the legs so it'll fit the old socket. Or, if you have room somewhere for a double throw switch, run two wires from the old socket, mount your new and old crystal on the switch, and you'll have an econo model expo kit. |
