i have recently aquired a 440 and it has'nt got tx on 27.is there a tech out there that can enlighten me as to how it can be done.your help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

To modify your TS-440S for MARS/CAP, follow the instructions listed in the operators manual for enabling the 10 HZ resolution, and clip DIODE 80 while you are in the same area. It is located upper left from where you found DIODE 66 at the end of the PC board (it will xmit where ever you can receive). These diodes are mounted 90 degrees from the board and are easy to spot. Reset the radio when you turn it on and that is all. To reset turn power on while holding in the A-B switch.

do not forget that u also need an AM filter for the radio u can get them from inrad they r on the internet here look them up now u want the 6 khz filter not the 4 khz the 6 is far better with the 4 it sounds like eveybody is on side band so get the right one & needs a little mod. to install it the fm also needs a board for it als the am filter will run about $150.00 then to have it installed will cost a few bucks more or look in any aes cat. ameture electronics store they have kenwood yeasu icom all of the radios filters & access. in it

thanks to 307&738 for you help in resolving my problem with my 440
rather than clip the thing,ys i desoldered 1 side of them from the board.
now my next qestion to you's is ,,,,,why then now.....do i only get xmit on the top part of 27,i dont have any of the bottom of 27 or all of 26..come on fella's i'm all ears
