Hello again everyone...Posted a message about this radio Tuesday around 6:00pm, but I guess it got LOST in the shuffle. Was just wondering if anyone could help with boosting modulation (not much swing) on this radio. I turned up vr7 and it helped a little...can,t find vr6. Always thankful for any help. Hooty

1. Change R-84 (4.7) to a 2.2K and save the 4.7K resistor for a later step.

2. Change R-78 (27K) to a 56K.

3. Look for IC3. In that area you will find D-21 and D-22. Unsolder the cathode (banded end) of each and lift out. Now install the 4.7K resistor that you saved from step #1 across where D-21 and D-22 were unsoldered.

This mod will easily overmodulate your audio so be sure that you keep the mic-gain in check. You're going to have more audio than you're going to know what to do with.

You may Email me at kc0gxz@aol.com if you have a problem.

Good luck and 73s.

Jeff, kc0gxz.
