I saw one of these radios in a shop recently and fell in love with it, mainly because of its small size (i have a small car). Then i did some research and found out it has very poor adjacent channel rejection, which makes mobile operation a joke. Is there a way to correct this with a simple modification or would it be more trouble than its worth? I guess what i'm really wondering is if this radio is worth the $180+ price tag. |

The last version 1.1 worked some of these issues and improved it. It's still a bit noisy but so are many CB's. Lots of radio there in that package, but kind of spendy all the same. Look at the serial number, if it has a V1.1 or something to that affect (near the end I think), it's the latest version and better than the early versions concerning a few minor discrepancies. Hence the update. Alsworld |

I had the Midland 79-290 it's a very nice for a small radio. Talked plenty of DX on it. If you install a channel guard in that radio it, eliminates most of the bleedover. The only time I had bleedover on mine was when I was driving by a truck driver right next to me. The channel gaurd is great on any of those SMD board radios, works wonder!!!!!! |
