there are two pins on the right side where the kit connects to. you can install a switch or connect these two pins together to make it change to these freqs.( that should do the trick.) to go back to 24-32 just turn the radio off and open the connection back up. each time you want to go back to 21-30 or to 24-32 the radio has to be turned off, then back on so the radio can reset itself. ( ps ) i have not done this without the kit. i hope this helps. |

It can go even farther if you install the "expansion module" and the jumper on those pins to get you 21 to 30. Once done, there is a keyboard trick that can get you 18.6 to 36MHz!!! |

In testing the extremes of the radio's coverage, I tested carrier and frequency stability. In my 2950DX, I found freq.-stability from 20MHz to 30MHz when the VCO is adjusted. With the propper antenna, a carier can be had over this coverage, varrying from 2Watts to full power. You may pick-up international broadcast Short Wave at the lower end, otherwise the recieve is not bad |

Wideband mods scare me the widebanding of any radio requires you trap out mixer prodicts and other trash that it was not made to do. Thats why i asked how far down was trash? Unless your a ham this kinds mod would make no sence even if you are going down to 20 mhz is realy asking a lot of the tuned ckts of a radio like this. I would like to see what it looked like on a IMR or simular test gen. As for broadcast some may realy be on thoes frequencys hopefuly your not looking at a image in the 9 mhz range. My 2950DX was ok just not what i needed for 10 although it worked well on both 10 and 12 but i would have kept it if it would have been good on 15. |

There is no "wide banding" of this radio except for a small adjustment of the VCO for frequency stability at the far-ends. And I am not advocating transmition where you are not supposed to...just showing what the radio can do--10MHz of functionality WITHOUT having to chop-up your radio! The SW stations I am getting are real: 20.000 WWV Ft. Collins CO. and a few south american ststions here and there. I am an SWL and like the accessability. |
