WOW. If you have a unmodified Cobra 142, that's a rare one.
Go to the archives on this forum, type in "Cobra 142" and you will see all kinds of neat tricks written up on that radio.

Yeah teh 142 GTL is a very good radio if you are a guy that likes to do mods and tricks..
Theres also a few good power and audiommods for that radio as well (yeah i know how most guys on Coppers forums hate swing but oh well) that will make that radio talk like a champ and be really loud!!! |

What can't be done to the 142 should be the questoin LOL...
This is one of the radios on the marker, were thier is alot, a whole lot that you can do to this radio..
1.extra channels
2.Clarifier mod (If the right mod, you'll be able to slide in between channels, and some clarifier mods go several channels)
3.you can put a swing kit in it.(i know to, but i like it)
4.10kc jump can be added.
5. You can play with the crystals and even get more channels..
Their is a whole lot more... I've heard of people putting FM kits in these radios as well..
Room for alot of toys in thier tooo as you know already..
