I have a 29 dead keying maybe 1/2 watt and swinging around 10 watts.
I am trying to push a texas star dx350 hd. I hear the amp key when i hit the mike but there is no carrier on my meter it doesn't read any watts until i talk then it swings about 200. I dont understand whats goin on.

You're doing it right but if it were mine, I would set the radios' deadkey to at least 1 to 1.5 watts. I personally prefer 1.5 watts.

I believe you will see a better response and you still will not be over-driving your amp.

Good work Tshelburne5002.
