Why can I find a mod for most radios and none for mics? There has got to be a way to modify a mic for more mod or something. Or to implement gain into a noise cancelling mic.

Sorry but I have no Modifications for any of the microphones on the market.

For extra Modulation I have always adjusted the Modulation in the Radio or added a Power Mic.

If you read the CEF Area under Contacts you will find many posts from people that have made contact with us on the CEF Nets and it is always the same LOUD!

Corncob CEF #166, Homeboy CEF #159, Redman CEF#156, Turtle CEF #165 all use the DM-452 Hand Mic also and Love it.

And they are always LOUD & PROUD & CRYSTAL CLEAR with the ECHO turned almost completely off.

With the radios set at 80% Modulation and swinging 100% and we use the SuperStar Silver Salute Desk Mic or the SuperStar DM-452 Hand Echo Mic with the Echo almost shut completely shut off.

The links are below so you can see both of them.

Hope this helps.

I got a book from coppers auction back when it was running that has a noise canceling mod for all mics. It basically puts a 100 ohm resistor between the audio wire and the transmit wire to cut background noise. I took apart a rk56 mic and it has a capacitor between the audio and transmit. I may get the cap numbers and try one on a stock mic and see what it does?

Depending on the value of the capacitor it's purpose could be to shape the audio or just to decouple RF. The purpose of the resistor is just to attenuate the signal.

Some microphones have compressor amplifiers in them and they do increase the avearage modulation of your speech. Some are better than others, and the Turner microphones with compression are among the best examples. They include the +3 series and the Super Sidekick.
