Is there a way ,maybe by a switch, to bypass the built in amp? I want to just feed my PAL 321 1 to 2 watts. Even with the RF turned all the way down to 1 watt the radio still swings full 180watts and that is far too much. I can do the mod but I need someone to tell me how. Thanks Radiodude |

Radiodude If set up correctly, your 2995DX will easily generate an output of 250 watts or more. From this point, you would need a amplifier that does more than 500 watts for someone to see a 1/2 S-Unit increase on their meter. In otherwords, you have to more than double your RF output power just to come up 1/2 S-Unit on the receiving end. And I'm sorry to say that your old Pal-321 just doesn't have what it takes to even come close to that. Jeff Tech548 |

MY 2995 has NEVER done 250 unless my meters are bad . I got it from Copper and it was modded and peaked and tuned by them. It will do about 180 to 200 if I drive it hard. My PAL 321 with 4 6lf6s will go to 400w. No way has my 2995dx done 250! |

What about on PEP my watt meter shows about my RCI 2970 does about 150-170 but I do not have a PEP meter. I would like to know what they do on PEP. If anyone has a meter that will actually read PEP can you you let me know? Or if there is a simple equation that would help figure PEP it would be nice to know. |
