Does someone here know where I may get a channel kit for this old base? It is super loud,,and has great ears, I would like to be able to get up to 27.665, I know about changing out crystals, but then you lose what you have pulled,,I would appreciate some input about this base, tia,,JPT

Justpassingthru,

Check out the Modification List UNDER: Tools to the left of the forum here for Crystals to change Frequencies on the SBE 16CB CONSOLE II Radio.

Hope this helps.

It's easy. Look on ebay and buy a siltronix 90-1 vfo. pull ch 23 and put it in the vfo then run a shieled cable from crystal socket to vfo. then retune the output of radio on ch 35 with vfo on. works very well but use freq counter so u get on freq so everyone can hear and understand u. tony/n5jva
