I would like to pick up one of these units for a back up rig Here at Coppers.
Any one have the freq. mods.?
Also does the mod cover below 1 as well as above 40? I know this sounds silly but I have got mods in the past that only cover below 1 or above 40.

Is the mod. easy for the radio handi-capped?

Thanks,

The 2547 is not as easy to mod as others, I own one and have chosen not to mod it. I also own a Magnum257, I love the 2547 but if I had to do it all over again I'd have 2 Magnums, more so if I wanted more channels. The reason I haven't sold the 2547 is that it has some features I like more. It's 6 of one and a half dozen of the other!

1. Remove bottom cover from radio.
2. On the main PCB, locate J33.
3. Locate wires on pins marked "P5" (yellow) & "P6" (grey).
4. Cut wire on "P5" (yellow) and install a SPST switch in line.
5. Cut wire on "P6" (grey) and install a SPST switch in line.
NOTE: By using two of the function switches available on the radio will eliminate the need for two new switches to be installed and mounted.

this is the mod for the 2547 for channels.not hard to do.
