I just picked up a mint condition Cobra 139 23ch. ssb base..From original owner.
Never been opened (so he said). This radio has a 4watt swing. I would like to do a freq. mod
How do I really get in there and put it to 'er?

Thanx in advance..

You need a torch, and all sorts of other metal working tools (boat anchors are very thick and heavy metal). Don't burn yourself but your going to have to get that thing awfully hot to change it. I'm sure when your done, though you'll have a nice looking heart (or whatever shape your going for) Just be patient and you can modify it! If not you may want to take it to a black smith so you know it's done right. A good black smith is hard to find though, make sure he has all the right equipment and he’s not one of those "golden anvil" type blacksmiths that think that pulling parts from your anchor is the answer. Well that is normally not right, you want a quality anchor not an anchor that bleeds (they bleed?) any way I’m having trouble sticking with this fictitious boat anchor thing, so I'll end with this, I looked, couldn't find, sorry.

I have a 139 also. All I know is the basic peak and tweak.
