hello, i've just gotten a magnum 125 linear amplifier from a friend. it is in good shape and it works however it looks like it might be an older model. has anyone ever heard of a magnum 125? also, i am using this along with a new virage vx-129cn 40 channel mobile cb. it is made by ranger. from what i see online it appears to be a brand new radio (just introduced) how many watts should i set the dead key at for this 125 amp? if anyone knows how to do mods to this radio that would be helpfull too since there are no mods on the internet yet. thankyou, rich |

for the amp, turbo, pop the cover off & see what the transistors are, then you can get an idea as to what it is capable of. MOST, though not all amps of that 'estimated' size work best at 2.5-3 watts or so input, dead key. |
