Hi, If anyone knows the frequency (channel) mod for a 77-120ESP2 Midland, I'd sure appreciate it if you would post it. Thanks! |

Looks like I have a "difficult" radio to modify... |

Killowatt looks like that radio is a tough one to mod a lot of the new ones use unmodifiable chips...... no fun for a tinker. |

Thanks Bruce... I was afraid of that. Maybe that's why I got such a good deal on mine, eh? :-( It's kind of a strange radio. It has a microprocessor (instead of a PLL for frequency generation) under a metal shield on the bottom of the pcb. It also has a selectable frequency/channel readout. I had assumed that the frequency readout meant that it could have been modified. However, it could just be a marketing ploy by Midland. Oh well, I can always use them to hold the door open. Thanks again for the reply, Bruce! |
