Does anyone know what RV to adjust the AM Modulation on the S45? My S45 sounds low no matter which microphone I try. Thanks.

The mod adjustment is RV-119. I'm surprised your modulation is low. My S-45 has so much modulation that I just run the mike gain on 1:00 o'clock. I've tried other mikes but the stock mike works best on mine. I guess the stock mike is actually a power mike, there's voltage on one of the mike pins, and the mike has a small board inside with a VR adjustment.

Thanks for info. Do you know what the adjustment in the mic does?

that is also a mic "gain" adjustment! you may wanna try that first.Good luck.I sure hope your clarifier is at center,as mine is off! Gonna send
er off here this week. mine is at 9:30 for center
freq. on any and all modes. pretty dissapointed
for a new radio being off this far being brand new.
keep us posted.Slim

Slim1, my clarifier is off center also. I have to run it almost all the way to the left to be on center. The adjustment inside want change it either. I decided to live with it instead of sending it back and have used it like that for a year and half now. Scrapiron

My clarifier isn't a problem. Between 11 and 12:00
for SSB. I checked RV-119. It was turned down to about 1/4 inside the radio. Turned it up to about 3/4, and reports are much better and louder audio. I haven't opened the mic yet. FWIW, my radio was bought un-modified, and not "tuned".

Sending my OmegaForce in for warranty work this week. The radio works great most of the time, but the RF Power and Volume knobs are kinda messed up. I've been using it about seven months now, and they have steady gotten worse.

On another question.... does anyone have the locations for adjusting the final output on AM? Or even the tuning points? Only a few months of warranty left, and I can't find any specs or schematics online that would help my tech if I need it worked on in the future.

Thanks!

521_houston,

As soon as I have more Tune-Up information for the S-45 I will post in in the Modification List for the Copper Forum Members.

Sam Lewis is working on getting me all of the information on the Magnum Radios.

Sorry, but for now all of the Information that I have is listed there.

Why cant you center the clarifier like a cobra 148gtl, tuning the inductor coils L59 L22 L23 on the cobra brings the recieve and transmit to the center, one for each mode, I sure its not a cobra but the same idea, maybe......??
