The radio should run 4 watts on AM and 10 on SSB if this is a one output one. I have had several and they are great radios...... if you need power go get a amp. |

Bruce: you are right, no vari-power. It is a one final radio. 27MEG: that radio should run an amp verry well at 1-2W deadkey with a swing of 5-7W. I think I saw a swinger mod for it, I do not think the swinger mod for the 257 will work 'caus the final section is not the same |

The FCC has a long list of BANNED radios The Titan is like the 257 almost the same as a HTX-10 radioshack ....... HOWEVER the HTX-10 uses a slightly diffrent microprocesser and it cannot be modified. The basic rule is a radio CANNOT cover CB and 10 METERS if it does then you cant sell it As a rule the term EXPORT radio is used as is 10 meter radio but when it has 40 ch on it and a 6 band selector there is no doubt its not ment for hams YEA YEA we know how well this is inforced but TITAN is a older radio and at that time the FCC jumped on that set and others like it fineing importers ...... and because of its low selling price they could not make any money selling them. |

That makes sense. The Palomar 450 works good with this radio. It is a high drive model. The instructions say 5 watt deadkey but it sounds fine the way it is.. |
