What transistors are in the kl 400 mobile?
Some say 455"s and others say 1446's.

I just placed an order for one.Do I need to move any jumpers around to use it on the popular band?

Thanks.

It depends on where you ordered it whether it will need to be mod'd for the popular band. If from Coppers, it's done already. If not, the jumper goes on pins one and two on the only four-in-a-row set of pins (there are no others that look like that).
I have seen them advertised with both. Mine has MRF-455's, but it's an older one. I believe you would see a little more power out of the 1446's, although at these watts nobody could probably tell, just the meter.

Drive it easy for the best sound. These amps sound clean and really sweet both AM and SSB, but they are no competition amp, so trying to milk every last watt out of it will just shorten it's lifespan. Go easy and enjoy!

Thanks for the information.
Yes its coming from copper.

I had the 60 and 203 from KL.They both worked good.Back then they were dirt cheap in price and well worth the money.
