Better leave it alone thoes are good transistors and 4 of them will give as much as 400 PEP.

OOOOh man,4 2879s as much as 50 amps maybe 60,get a big one.A tripplite 60 only puts out 42 amps continuous, get 2 and run in paralell or put in mobile and use 6 gauge wire.Bigbob

with ANY amp ALWAYS go straight to battery. 1st gotta see what size alternator accord has. if it's less then 75 amps, your 4 transistor amp(it is 4 ONLY, right? no extra 2 sc 2290 driver transistor in front of the 4???) is gonna be borderline TOO MUCH if you have ANY accessory on(headlights, heater, wipers, etc) also, what radio you gonna be usin' with it? amp can PROBABLY handle 10 watts dead key from radio & up to 35 watts pep. BUT best way to test is to start with LOW dead key, like 2 or less & turn it up til you get about 125 watts carrier from amp, stopping at 8 or 9 watts if you DON'T get that much. swing should be anywhere from 400 to 800-there is probably NOTHING you can do to increase it if it falls towards the lower end, & if it's to the high end it was probably built by somebody who knew what they were doing. if it's in that range-YOU'RE GOOD!

6 gauge wire is about the same or is the same as your battery cables, forget what I said about 2 supplies run 3 pr60s,or build yourself one from a 125 amp battery charger, they usually have a 300 amp surge, but you'll need at least twenty 30 amp pnp pass transistors and a 1 farad filter cap, like a stinger,3 ten ohm wirewound resistors a 317t regulator(with assosiated parts and board) and 2 .047mfd caps and if you're interested,I can e-mail you a schematic.Kind of a pricy unit but you'll have a king-kong of a power supply. With twice as many pass trans.,this could easily hammer out 500 amps,man-o-man run a sweet 16 on your base,oh and by the way get a 220 charger, won't be so hard on the electric bill.Bigbob
