I wouldnt advise doing any "mods" to the 95T. You will have an expensive paper weight if you dont have the right equiptment. They do fine with a good alignment |

I have to admit that the 95T is a strong radio. Due in part that it has an amp built into it. Everyone that owns one cries about "you can't say let me put an amp on my S9". Why? Trying to compare a radio with a built in amp to a radio without one, is like comparing a 4 cylinder car to a V8. One good thing I can say is atleast I have a S9 and the option to buy just about any amp I want. If I had bought the 95T like I had planned, my choices would be limited. Going against the Master, I personally think that any standard radio without added power won't be able to get over the 95T if they are both side by side. Since jumping on the S9 bandwagon, I've ragged Galaxy...but I'll have to admit...my Galaxy days aren't over. I still like them, still own a few, and will probably buy another one or two or three. However....I don't need to say what the next radio I buy will be...RCI2995DX...already bought it.... |

Using Porkchop's analagy; A 95T is like a Ford Pinto with a big block somehow strapped under the hood. The darn thing is POWERFULL but the ride is terrible! My S9 may be a little less powerfull but at least the ride is enjoyable! Quality VS. quantity Which would you rather have? BC |

why is the magnum better than the galaxy? two words: quality control. galaxies use cheaper parts. especially when it comes to crystals. anyone here have a galaxy that drifts? anyone have one that doesnt? try replacing the crystal with a mil-spec one. as far as being a better receiver then the S9? gimmee a break! galaxies use the same board that has been in cruddy exports for twenty years. that design is only around because it's cheap to make. not because it works well. the receiver in the magnum is just a better design. PERIOD! if you think your galaxy outperforms a magnum, then its because of other factors particular to your installation. NOT BECAUSE THE GALAXY IS BETTER! current copper prices: magnum S9-319.00 KL300P-79.00 total:398.00 galaxy 95T-399.00 save a dollar, AND get twice the radio!!! seems to me the ONLY reason for owning a 95T is to fool your trucking company into thinking that your radio is stock.

Well...that is a good reason to buy one. If you work for a trucking company and they don't allow amps, then the 48T or 95T would be a good choice. I have to say that I love my S9. But I still have my Galaxy radios and I plan to buy a 95T. I have to admit I lean to my S9 though over any other radio I own. I haven't heard it, but a lot of guys where I work are starting to ask about it and want to know how much they can get one for. So it must be a good sounding radio, and I must have the bugs worked out of mine.. The only thing I guess I can really say bad about the 95T is that you have to buy a good sized amp to run behind it. Atleast you can get a smaller, being cheaper, amp to run behind the S9. And the S9 does come with a speech processor, so that's something to look at too. As much as a lot of you complain about the 95T you must have really sorry techs who do your radio work!My 95T has very little noise even on those quiet days when the skip is dead but has great ears, only drifts when its cold but once its warms up its fine, has power out the wazu and i dont need an amp to be heard over the hash and trash on ch19.After a year or more has not had any problems what so ever!On the other hand i have seen inside the S9 and they are better built, even my tech said that he thought they had been built with the best parts not the cheap stuff you see in other radios(yes Galaxy)so as far as the Galaxy/Magnum war goes....time will tell how they hold out(s9)but until they build an s9 that can put over 200 watts into my dosey i will just keep my little Galaxy! |

3 years, coast to coast, never I repeat never a problem!!!! How do I know its the BOMB?? Raves from posters just like you!!!! 300+ watts is the only way your going to talk over me!!! and by the way I also own an S9, great radio but hears with one ear. To be in the same league youd need a amp $300+, Radio $300+ thats around $600, so where is that bargain you talked about?

Ok i'll wade in here. Please don't get grumpy but this what i know. My Magnum 357DX...swings over 200w. My Ranger 2970DX..swings over 200w. Neither drift, wobble or do anything untoward. Both get 5x5 reports. I know where my loyalties lie. Cheers Guys and have a great Easter. CEFFFCEF Bob CEF703/CVC26 269 Hunter Valley NOT allowed to hold a passport....
