I know how to do the 10k mod but my question is if im setting on 27.455mhz and flip to -10kc will it put me on 27.445MHZ ? I want to stick with the 2 switch channel mod but want to be able to go to 27.435 so doing this and the standard slide mod should allow me to do so.I know i can get the clarifier to slide this far down from 27.455 but it will be real touchy and i dont want that.So if anyone could help it would be very much apriciated. |

Allen: I answered this question some time ago. It is NOT possible to get to 27.435.0, even with a clarifier mod. that does -10 KHz., as well as having the -10 KHz. switch mod., from 27.455.0 KHz. You must do the pin 13 mod. as earlier discussed to get to 27.435.0, and it comes up on channel 35 of your channel selector. As simple as that. I'm assuming you are using the switches on the radio, ok then the CB/PA switch will work for the pin 13 mod. so you don't have to add a switch. |

I forgot to say that the PLL channeling doesn't go 10KHz. down at 27.455.0 MHz., the channeling goes up to 27.465.0 MHz. only. It's just the manner in which the PLL circuit is programed into the IC chip. |

fusebreaker, i put the 6 position switch on my 2000gtl and in position 3, on channels 37,38,39, and 40, i get .415, .425, .435, .445. then, in the next position, ch.15 is 27.455 and goes up from there. try to find a diagram of this mod online. it's the one you want to do. matt |

I had a 148 and I had no 41-44 too. I didnt do the 6 position switch mod. Also I did the super swing mod that was so easy I thought it wouldnt work. Take the purple wire(it may ge green) for the final bias and solder it to the 13.8v power bus ( positive side !) and cut the long trace comming from AM power VR10 I think.........then solder a 1.1k 1w resistor across the cut and then clip your favourite modlimmiter and you got from 1w carrier swinging to whatever the radio will do on ssb, 12-18 W putting the carrier lower than 1w makes the rario sound crunchy. I NEVER seen swing till i did this mod. With a boot its insane the boot loves it uven swinging to 14w on am the boot seeems to not mind, try that with a 14w carrier and you'll be in trouble. I'm sorry I cant link the mod here it seems the internet is clogged with garbage and finding it is an issue. It was called "totally necessary swing mod " 73's all |
