Is there an easy way to add talkback to the 148 GTL China model? I am not really concerned about easy adjust ability, I am just so used to having it with the old DX99V that I cant stand going with out it now. |

just jump the negative speaker terminal to ground through a 100 ohmm resistor and a switch. |

Well I tried it with a 100 ohm resistor and it squealed like a little pig, and I couldnt find any other resistors so I stole a VR pot out of an old audio amplifier that didnt work anymore and put that in and can now adjust it from 2 ohms to 600 ohms and its about perfect at 150 ohms. Only problem I have with this is I have to take the cover off to adjust it so now I need to find a VR pot out of a radio and drill a little hole in the back and stick it through, thanks for the help Goat!!! |

Gator, Look inside at the rear of your radio and you will probably find a 100 ohm resistor placed/soldered between the PA jack and EXT Speaker Jack. Remove it. Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |

Have a Grant XL that talk back was installed in. How can I remove it and make the PA work again. It has a switch that turns the talk back on low and high, probably 2 differant resistors but not sure. I run volunteer fire watch for the DNR and I need to announce to campers that they need to vacate. |
