Im looking to buy the KL-60 unit and was wondering if it will work with a stock factory Galaxy DX-979 on both AM and SSB or will I have to make adjustments.

Thanks

Revinsd,

WELCOME TO THE COPPER FORUM!

Yes, it will stock factory Galaxy DX-979 on both AM and SSB .

You may need to have your Output Dead Key on your radio backed down.

I would personally recommend only using a Dead Key of NO MORE than 2 to 2-1/2 watts of Drive Power going into the Amp from your Radio.

Hope this helps,

Lon

Would that apply to both AM and SSB?

Thanks

Would the KL-203 be a better choice and would I still need to cut back the carrier with it? Im only looking to use it when Im out in the desert or when conditions require a little more milage. Other than that I would prefer to run stock.
