kid_vicious i have never hear of that pll chip, but i have not pulled the cover off the radio yet. if it does have the LC7185, what would need to be done to add ch's? if it has another chip other than the LC7185 then what must be done to add ch's? or can it? thanks for all the help! and Merry Christmas to ALL!!! |

This i found on a web site .. "This chip uses ROM programming with direct VCO division. It only has one programming bit to step UP or DOWN,getting rid of the BCD channel selector switch. No chance of modification." |

darn that rad shak! they never did want me to have fun with my radios. flashgordon, this is one of those radios that you put a good power mic like the DM-452 or the D104 M6B on and stick it in the wife's car. it will always work, and with the power mic, it wont sound half bad. you could sell it, or if you didnt pay too much for it; you could use it for a learning radio and start cutting out parts and seeing what smokes! it's so fun! J/K good rad shak radios for mods are the TRC-457,458, and 490. look for them on *bay. have fun, matt |
