I'm thinking about changing out a kl200p/wilson 1000,talk's good now when condition's are right now though ,but putting in this (palomar 450 elite)which would go in a 98 buick lasabre nothing wrong with the 200 I just want a little more power to talk dx...would you recommend doing this or is there any other way to power up what I have....got the 200 from copper too.

the kl200 is a 1x1446 i think, so you probably see around 100 watts, the 450 is a 4x1446, so you'll probably see 350-400 watts out of it. you are roughly doubling you output 2x, so you should be able to gain 1 S-unit on the station hearing you. not too bad. you would next need about 1500 watts to get a 2nd S-unit.

more or less
