I bought an Emperor TS 5010, only to discover that someone had clipped the limiter. (ALC) Can someone tell me where to find it on the board and it's value so that I can replace it??
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try R247. I don't know where it's at, but I read that it's the audio limiter. It's kind of silly that they would do that to that radio.

Hope that helps.

I have read that R247 is the limiter as well. Problem is that I cannot find it on the board, plus I will need the part value to replace it.
But thanks for trying!

I still cannot find R247 on this rig, the problem might be that the same idiot that clipped the limiter also added a multi-tone rodger beep, and the hot glue from the wiring is hiding R247.
The radio is in otherwise exellent condition. It key's at 10 watts on high and swings to 29, and keys at 3 watts on low also swinging to 29. On ssb it swings to 30+. I refuse to transmit on a radio with the limiter removed, so the radio is for sale. Make offer! Will include a Cobra power-mic.Or I will trade for a similar rig that has not been butchered!

Ditch the power mic and I would bet you'll be fine for now! If your worried about splatter\TVI turn it down a bit...little less swing...HOWEVER..If your serious "SEND HER TO ME!"
