I have done this mod with the 22pf disc cap in both of these radios. It works fine until I wire a switch for normal operation. Is the wiring to the switch changing the capacitance enough to change the frequency ? I have tried several types of wire, but the only thing that worked for me was to solder a small switch directly to the board. Thats just not very practical. Anyone have a trick that makes this mod work ? Maybe a different value cap, or a vari-cap to make up for the wiring ? Many thanks in advance...

I know this is an old post, but thought some one may have an interest. I also had this problem. All you have to do is try different value capacitors till you find the one you need. IE-12pf, 20pf, 14pf, etc.

I did this mod along tima ago seems it will even change when you put the covers on. I found that putting a cap from one side of the switch to ground fixed it.
