Just acquired a TS 450S Kenwood in great shape and would like to expand the coverage on 27 MHZ
At the moment, it will transmit down to 27.500 and anything lower than that is receive only.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I hope that this is not a duplication but will try to post this request once again pertaining to the 11 meter mod on my TS 450S Kenwood.
Was unable to perform the above mod and listed below are the reasons why.

The Digital Unit board number on my TS450S is:

X46-3120-00 with J72-0105-32 engraved below the X46 bit.
The large Eprom is JBU5 dated 1991

The above board does not have Diodes D26 or D27 as shown in the Mod diagram you kindly passed on to me.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Thank you for forwarding me the below link.
www.ham.dmz.ro/kenwood/ts-450s.php,
Unfortunately there is nothing there that can help me as it says to cut chip diode D27 (RL73) which does not exist on my board.
I am at a loss as to what it will take to get this rig (TS 450S Kenwood) to expand the transmit below 27.500. Anyone else ever hear or know of this problem?
Thanks again...
Jim

When it says cut the chip diode, does that just cut it in half with the cutters or cut it at the end wires?

Either worksd, but I've always found it better to cut the wire, as it is easier to fix if you want to restore to original condition.

By the way remember a modified Ham radio is illegal to use on 11m.
