you need a crossover.

if i remember correctly; a cap makes a high pass filter (only high freqs. pass)

and an inductor makes a low pass filter (only low freqs. pass)

as to what values equal what freqs., i dont know, but im sure there is a chart or something on the net to figure it out.
try looking at some car stereo sites.

you add the cap or the inductor in series with the positive speaker lead.
you need an inductor to cut the high freqs. a bit, which will also give the impression of more bass.
just dont know the value you need.
if you find out; please post it.

change c48 470uf to a bigger value like 660.
the higher # more base.
it's right next to matching transformer.
this mod works on all radios.....

p.s.
don't add any thing to the speaker!!!
but a cross over.
a cap will work for a lil wile.
untill the output blowes.

the problem was that i was going by the manual that says use a 4 ohm speaker so i called my cb man and he said use a 8 ohm speaker.works great!!!it cut out all the treble and made it sound the way it should.
