Anyone know how to unlock the clarifier on this radio ? Also anyone know much about the board it uses ? It has the 858 and the 1306-1307 but it's not a 449-457-458 board !!! http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/4985/picture407pm.jpg http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/6519/picture367pq.jpg http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/8622/picture443nm.jpg |

If it's anything like the other like radios with the uPD-858 PLL. Yes, but after opening the clarifier it doesn't have a very broad frequency range. I'm speaking of the system used on radios the likes of the Cobra 138/139XLR, first model President Grant, and Washington, several of the Radio Shack Realistics. Along with several other sideband radios that had the great 200 channel uPD-858 PLL, done with just a pin switching mod., useing three switches and a fourth switch for 10 KHz. up and down switching. Many old time CB radio operators, of the late 70s and 80s have done many mods to this great uPD-858 sideband chassis. A great amount of these radios are still in use today. Some of them in my vast vintage sideband collection. |

For some reason I didnt notice the 23 channel on the above post. As far as I can tell, my rado is closest to a Courier Centurion 40D |
