--Hi, all. I am having trouble modding my 2950DX to go from 24-32 Mhz. What exactly is the procedure to modify it? The one mod. I found tells you to take the bottom cover off of the radio. With the back of the radio facing you, short the two pins (the two pins that have to be jumpered are next to two other pins...all four pins are next to each other in a shape of a square) on the right side that is behind the display. However, when I do that, I get a 14Mhz display. I dunno what the deal is. The board is the EPT695014B if it makes any difference.

--I read somewhere that I was supposed to get a jumper with the radio in the mic. hook bag, but there was not one included. I've also read something about an "E Chip" and some sort of "module". Thanks for any help.

***--Oh yeah, how do I do a complete reset of the radio?

--Oh, by the way, the pins I shorted are the ones located next to the word "buzz".

--Another question, how do I stop the radio from scanning? No matter what button I press, the radio just stays in the Scan mode. I can leave the radio unplugged for an hour, and when I plug the radio in again, it keeps scanning, unless I turn the squelch up. I guess something is messed up.

--Hi, yeah. Haha, that's one of my problems, in fact. I don't know how to do a reset of the radio. How does one reset the processor? Thanks.

Hello mayor.Ok the board number you are refering to is in my rci2995dx base.If you have the same circuits I do(most likely)you will need whats called a E chip module that normally ships with the radio. It wont be installed because it gives cb channels. What you have to do is plug the module into the radio at the back of the frequency display on the inside. The module already has a plug attached to it to plug into the radio. As far as resetting the processor they say if you cut the radio on and off and then back on again quickly it will reset the cpu. This part I dont know if its true or not.
