Ok after frying my 2000 and almost losing my mind, I've come to the conclusion that the Turner +3 has a bug in it. The switch inside that keys the microphone is grounded in the recieve position, resulting in a squeal from the speaker when attempting to max the dynamike while receiving. So just a heads up to take the white mike wire from the leaf switch and connect it directly to the pcb and eliminate the grey thin wire and also eliminate the switch for Relay\Electronic. Solder the black wire from the switch and place it on the middle leaf on the other leaf switch, eliminating the green and red thin wires from the picture. Mano oh man that cost me big time. |

Hmmm, the squeal is still there....I have 4 wires, I think the turner 3B has an extra leaf switch for this type of issue. Maybe someone can help me, please, before I fry again. |

ok fellow CBer's I figured it out. I added a 5 wire cord and another leaf switch and wired the audio lead to the center, the 5th wire I added to the bottom of the leaf-trio, and the top to the audio-in on the Turner pcb. On the mic plug end the wires are the same but the new 5th wire goes to pin 2, right above the audio pin 1. I hope to GOD nobody goes through what I did to figure this out. 73's **by 5 wire I mean a cord with 5 conductors including the shield, which is really worded a 4 wire, I replaced the 3 wire. |

So you weren't using pin 2 for ground before you changed the cable? |

cool deal! i think you will really love how that turner sounds with your 2000. especially on SSB. some of the hams i talk to say i sound like im running an HF rig. they sound best when close talked, like about 2-3 inches away. later, matt |
