Has anyone out there ever done a mod like this on these or similar radios?

it would be a real neat idea to have the txcvr mounted elseware in a vehicle or even mounted in a weather sealed housing at the base of antenna up on a tower :-)

This has been done with ham radio's and police scanners, as well as commercial two way radios.

Just kicking the idea out there, maybe someone will take the ball and run with it.

i would just buy a ham radio and mars mod it personaly
