can you use 2 2879`s instead of the 2290`s for more power on the 2970?

the ammount of power you would gain would not be noticable at all to anyone you would talk to.

you would have to change capacitor values on the input and output transformers, probably the turns ratio also. might also need to change the cap values of the base to emitter.
too much work for no change in signal to me. JMHO.

also the 2879's are more expensive.
