This radio has the channel mod but only goes to 28.305 on F band. HOW can I get the radio to up 40+ more to around 28.705 and still keep the cb band 1-40 without too much loss in receive??

another way woulb be to put the channel mod on an on-off toggle since it is a 10 meter from the factory it should cover all the bands plus 10 meters depending on wether the toggle is on or off other than that i have have not the slightest clue

i am not sure what the value is what is the radio modeled after is it got a galaxy that is very similar like a 2547? or 2980 ? general dont have much info on the internet the best way would be to put the channel mod resistors back in then solder the open ends together then solder a wire from there to an on-off toggle switch then a wire from switch to where the mod resistors use to be solderd

shoud give you one band of 40 higher with one low band lower thats what i found this is a a mod very popular on galaxy 99`s to get 10 meter fm band that is a mighty fine radio we had one at the truckwash i worked at when the boss was gone i would sneak in her office and shoot skip on it LOLLOLLOL

unless you are a ham dont talk on those freqs and by the word of the law if it does 11 meters and 10 meters its not legal on either but if it only does 10 meters it legal.its odd i can modify a cobra 148 for 10meters but cant legally ever use it on cb after that HAHA makes no since but its the fcc i guess let me know what you get i want to keep this in my mind we are both learning and having fun just wish i was there with you looking under the hood of that jackson

i think it will be x2 on the board which is 14.010mhz if the info is correct if thats the case change it to a 14.460mhz and re-align radio radio if you wanted to get screwdriver happy you could add 4 or 5 upper bands on a crystal switch and keep all the lower channels

I am working on a 6 band expander kit for the cobra 148gtl i am just wondering if there is a broadbanding mod for it to widen up its frequency range if it works i am going to build more of them and sell them so after a clarifier mod it will be like a 10 meter export but look legal outside the box
