Depending on what your looking for...check the internet auction sites as there is ONE guy out there that sells just the faceplate (plastic reproduction but NICE) or the whole kit including faceplate attached to a new chrome bezel and knobs! The second kit is the one I bought and uses the factory parts instead of the repro faceplate. ... Made my 148GTL look like NEW! Good luck! Hank~CEF559 Long Island NY

I presently own 2 original 148-GTLs, and over the years have owned like 5 other 148s. As of yet I haven't had one with a beat up faceplate. It takes a lot of banging to have to replace a faceplate, although like others have said, might want to check an auction site or some of the radio shop junk boxes. If painting is your idea, I would say to use a finer grit sandpaper, so as to not dig up the plastic faceplate. painting over the chrome seems to be a good idea. Carl CEF-357 CVC-9 HAM-28 Flatlands of Oklahoma

DXGALAXY, I have a brand new bezel for Cobra148GTL. My e-mail address is in my profile. You will have to get a faceplate, but I will let you have bezel for nothing. HARVE UNIT199 CEF210 CVC18 KB0YVK

Another point of interest I have just found out that some may already know is that a galaxy 33, 44, or 77 bezel will fit the 148 side mic perfectly. Cool huh.. |
