i am thinking of getting a texas star 667 i have a rci 2970 will it take the drive from the 2970 or is there something i have to do to it to take the drive from the 2970? thanks bbmfic

get a dx500 instead, you'll still have to turn the power output on the radio DOWN a bit for AM, & the mic gain down for SSB. the 667 works with a 4 watt CB.
turn the power on the 2970 as low as it will go, mic gain OFF. turn amp on high, key radio & vary radio til amp shows 125-150 watts. turn mic gain up til you see 400-500 swing. just mic gain for SSB.
