hey guys. i just recently got my erf 2030, ekl 1230 , and my 68pf capacitor. My question is, i am going to be installing this in a cobra 29 ltd se. what is the power output i should be looking at. if i can dead key 2.5 watts, and swing near 40, is it still possible to put the ad 203 board, and what should i expect for an output. thanks alot! kenny |

im ocnfused by your post. i was wondering if i have a cobra 29 dk 2.5 and swinging 40 is that toi much to drive the ad 203 stinger board. my second question was all i need to do is drop the driver and the final, and the capacitor wothout tuning anything? |

2.5 is probably the TOP of the dead key it will take. 40 watts swing makes for a nice stinky black smoke. as you see by dales post, the radio with a stinger installed barely does 40 watts-the point he was making was to not believe the manufacturers hype. if your radio does 40 watts with erf2030's, the stinger won't add a drop to it. |

i didn't get 40 watts pep. the mod i read was that changing the final to the erf 2030, and adding the 1230 component with the 68pf capacitor will give u 40+ watts. i am going to get the cobra 20 ltd se from copper, but im wondering what the real world wattage would be. |

stock radio with stinger kit will probably see around 40 PEP, any more is a bonus. stock radio with erf2030 mod done will probably see 20-25 PEP, any more is a bonus. i don't think combining the 2 will get much more then smoke, eventually. i know all about 50 watt erf2030 mods & 100+ watt stingers. what i said above is what i think 615 ri can really expect to see, any more is a bonus. |

well well well ... i don't know what everyone else is doing, but i got a 29ltd classic NW ... did the dead key mod(2.5W), changed the final to 2sc1969, adjusted the swing to around 18-22W ... put in a AD203 board in place of the speaker ... i get a 15W dead key and 80-100W swing ... the only thing is it does spike when first keyed up to around 20W ... it says right on the directions to DE-TUNE the radio so it doesn't DK anymore than 4W, or swing real high ... i have been told it sounds excellent by a lot of people ... it drives a 6 pill x-force HD real good ... SWING is where you get the audio ... just my opinion on how mine works ... steve |
