would rf limited send someone one of these or would it be required to send it back? I just got it on 2/7/05 from here(coppers). That particular pot is VERY sloppy/loose. I mean both of them too! I can put it in myself no problem, but don't want to void the warranty. Also, why are the clarifiers off so far from the factory? Got to put mine at 10 o'clock to be on frequency. I hate that, what VR pot is the adjustment for this? One more question;are these backlighted w/bulbs or LED's? I sure like it this way. Thanks.Slim

Slim1, Yes, it would need to be returned to be repaired under the Factory Warranty. If you send me an e-mail with your Full Name, Complete Mailing Address, and a Phone Number where you can be reached, I can issue you an RA Number to return it for repair to the Magnum National Repair Shop. Or give Sam Lewis a call at: 1-877-624-6869 Honestly, I would suggest that you NOT make any adjustments that could possibly VOID your Factory Warranty. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

well Lon,from what I've been reading round the net, this is a common problem w/these! I guess I'll just relocate the clarifier knob for now. I darn sure don't wanna void my warranty. Also,I read where someone did adjust that VR pot and achieved nothing w/the clarifier being off center! I'll still give them a call when I get my serial numbers off my delta force;I never did get the update kit for the RX section.(mine is a pre 2002 model).I called about 1 year ago and they said it would be in the mail ASAP.LOL!!!! Thanks Lon.take care sir. Slim |

Yep,for sure there Hatchet. I hadn't realized it but my delta's exact same knob is loose; clarifier/amount knob. I wish to heck they would center up the clarifier on frequency before they ship em too! I guess I'm too picky. I've decided to live w/it as is for now. I REALLY hate to ship it back when I just got it Slim CDX285 |

Wow. What is with these clarifier pots? Mine is as loose as could be too. It works fine, but I wonder how long it will last. |

my delta force's knobs seem fine. but, my S9's mode selector was VERY loose. til it fell out & i realized the nut had backed off. strange, because i have NOT mounted it mobile, & only taken it out in the truck, setting it on the seat maybe a half dozen times or so. now, it hasn't been 'mobile' in a while, & the nut is about to fall off again. i find it hard to believe i need to put loctite on the nut, but, hmmmmm, i don't think it should keep loosening like that... |

just spoke to sam last week regarding an issue with my delta force, that's what prompted my comment. upon resolution of deltas' misfortune, will question sam as to why i have had a recurring problem with the S9's switch mounting hardware, for no apparent reason. as for service and support, during the last 15 years, sam lewis has never let me down when my AR3500 needed repairs, & when my delta previously required the receiver section update/upgrade. |

another to magnum's service & support! i don't even think the ink was dry on the UPS form i filled out & my delta force was back in my possession! yea, it ***** to have to send in a radio for repairs(those dreaded cold solder joints) when it had such LOW mileage (4-1/2 yrs old, maybe 25 hours use!), but, they sure do take care of their customers! the price was RIGHT!!! |

My Magnum 257 (original) was replaced by Copper within a week of the original receipt bor no modulation caused by CSG. Once I got the replacement, everything was tight and worked well. They need to get a handle on their quality control before they get a real bad name. Warranty service is fine but I would rather have quality up front. |
