Taking a shot at this here since the Magnum radio site doesn't seem to work right.
Looking for a replacement 6 pin mic for my Delta. I'd prefer a Factory replacement but would be happy to find one that would work in place of it as well. Mines not broke...just want to be ready if it does 
Someone told me the Mag257 mic works but I'd still need a source to buy it from..
Any help?

You can call 1-877-624-6869 (RF Limited / Magnum International) and order a STOCK Replacement Mic from Sam or Use any of your Favorite Hand Mics that you like and wire them for the radio.
MICROPHONE INPUT STOCK WIRING
Pin #1 ~ Microphone Audio / White
Pin #2 ~ Receive / Black
Pin #3 ~ Transmit / Red
Pin #4 ~ Down(Up w/22K Ohm Resistor) / Blue
Pin #5 ~ Ground / Shield w/yellow sleeve
Pin #6 ~ +13.8VDC / Brown
NOTE!
If the Mic you want to use does NOT have Up /Down Buttons, ONLY Use Pins #1-2-3-5 and Pull the PIN out of the Mic Plug for Pin #6 to AVOID shorting Pin #6 out and blowing the CPU up.

Well.... It happened and it only took me a month
I unplugged the factory mic to move the radio and when I plugged it back in the radio was doing scan mode. I got that to stop by turnng the radio off then on again but now I have no audio from mic and it will only change channels downward using the mic whether I use Up or Down on the mic (resistor or power source perhaps?).
Can't say for sure its the mic or radio but the other 4pin side works fine. Can I test for power at the 6 pin plug without doing damage to the CPU with a DVOM? The mic plug end on the cord seems to ohm out fine to the mic. I had to wiggle that mic out of the radio pretty good SO it is a possibility I damamged the radios male end plug and would like to check for 13v power IF that is a possibility. I have NO other 6 pin Magnum mic to try  .

I bet you lost pin 5 or pin 6, The channel selector references to ground and the mic needs a ground reference I believe to work the electret element.
You can check it CAREFULLY with a DVM, no test lights or slips Use an outside ground reference. I'll look at my 257 shcematics in a bit to see if's I'm wrong, I'm going off memory from my mic mod.

UPDATE....
Finally got a replacement mic for further testing the Magnum mic Jack. Previously wired a SRA-158 to the 6pin side after the original problem...this was done after pulling the center "Hot" pin as Lon described. Worked good but still wanted the factory mic up and running. I was hoping the Magnum mic crapped out and I just needed another...nope..new mic NOT working either...recap what does not work...Channel UP and Modulation.
Back to the mic jack and further testing within my ability here INSIDE the radio...(Didn't want to GO inside this radio!) Pin 5 (ground)tests Good to any and all Chassis ground. Pin 6 (13.8v) has continuity from outside the pin all the way to L123 (dayglo green resistor) out and to D177 Which looks like a diode and is Orange/Black. I have continuity from mic pin 6 to one side of this.
Powered up I have no power to pin 6 checking with DVOM to chassis ground.
Simple stupid question? If I have NO power at pin 6 and since it is 13.8v would it hurt to send 13.8v directly from say the on/off switch DIRECTLY to pin 6 inside the radio?

I can't answer your question,BUT,that "dayglo green resistor" you're referring to is a choke.AND
that is what usually goes "pop" or bad when someone shorts the 13.8VDC at pin 6!I don't know the value of this choke but I'm sure someone at magnum can point you in the right direction.Give
'em a call and see what they say.Hope this helps?

Bringing this back to the top for future search generations
Not wanting to send the radio back to Magnum and lose it for a spell I FINALLY decided to poke around now that the "NEW" wore off.
Ended up tagging a jumper between the on/off switch to pin 6. Channel up/down and modulation is restored and I now have the original mic (Which is by far the best sounding mic of all tested) back in action...only took the better part of a year to get around to it!
Not sure if it was the best idea but worked fine.
