Hello,
We're proud to announce that there will be a new Stryker radio available in the near future. The SR-490HP will be a higher power output version of the SR-440. We will have prototype models arriving in early to mid April. There will be a few additional features offered on this model as well. I'll post more detailed information in the near future. |

SSB will be on the SR-9xx radios, which are a little farther down the road. We are making extensive changes to the SSB radio because of the number of requests for features found on the higher end HF radios. |

very cool shawn!
cant wait to see the SSB models. sounds like i'll be right in the market for one.
and i think selectivity is the name of the game these days.
and a GREAT noise blanker that will cancel out fuel pump, alternator, and wiper motor noise without the need for external filtration.
this seems to be seriously lacking in mobiles these days, and interference aint going anywhere!
and maybe some internal controls for bass, mid, and treble of the transmit audio.
just a thought,

Hello everyone...I was wondering if anyone has heard anything lately about the High Power model of "Stryker"...Just curious on its release date...and are there anymore testimonies out there for the 440 model??? Thanks, Barry |

Hello,
Actually we should have our first shipment of SR-490HP radios arriving in mid Oct, around the 15th. When the date gets closer I'll post a full and detailed report of the features and power rating.

--The more I look at the Stryker SR-440HP, the more I want one. It seems like a lot of bang for the buck. Dunno if I should spend more $$ on radio stuff though, haha. Maybe I should wait until the 490HP comes out? |

still waitin' for that SSB stryker, or word on when it will come! have seen/used 2 different sr440hp's-in mobiles & set up differently-& both were actually impressive. can't spend $200 on a non-SSB radio though..... |

Same here I do not talk on AM enough to spend good money on AM only radio!! Now SSB only I would buy but all mode is even better. Right now I am torn between several radios and the yet to be avilable Stryker SSB radio! |

I have a Stryker SR-490 in my pick up. When I first installed the radio the audio reports were horrible. Very tinny sounding,are you in a coffee can etc etc. Than I was talking to a trucker one day and he asked me if I was using a power mic, I told him i was(d104). He said get rid of that mic and try a noise canceling mic. I replaced it with the Astic 631 noise canceling mic and boy what a difference. That took care of the problem. Now all I here is what radio is that, it's sooo loud and natural sounding. |
