This works in my favour....the longer the delay the more south pacific pesos i can salt away to get an S9 175. Gives me time also to sort out the electrical system in the Millenium Falcon to run the thing.....lol.

Steve,

As for the Main Board I cannot say but I would guess it will have to be new to accommodate the major changes including the Bottom Case which is the HEAT SINK.

ALL MAGNUM RADIOS will will be switched over to the ERF-2030 MOSFET Finals after the LIMITED batch of 257's with the 1969 finals arrive.

Is it safe to say the 257 might pack 80w with those new finals?
Also heard a rumor of the T/G modulator making it to this radio?
Hmmmmmm..getting interesting :-)

Give us a GREAT and DETAILED review on the radio Lon as you know there is a bunch of folks ready to buy if the price is right and the radio performs as the regular S-9 did compared to others on the market at the time.

My only concern is of the final price when it comes out, but will have to wait ad see on that.

Glad I did not wait for this radio for my trip as they missed the release date by months but that is pretty common as well. At this rate I may have to ask for it for Christmas....

On the new S9 80watt the HEAT SINK. will be on the bottom so does that mean that the speaker will be on the top lid?

Mdiver,

The Heat Sink on the S-9-80 is still located in the exact same place on the Rear of the Radio with no changes EXCEPT it is the HEAVY DUTY HEAT SINK.

You can see the HEAVY DUTY HEAT SINK by CLICKING on the S-380 Review below.
