these 2030s are like N.O.S. for the cb. built in power, i like alot. i've seen pep of all most 75 watts. gets kind of hot though. best to back off a bit. a lil minor surgery that's all. don't forget to tune your amp to handle it! you will toast it... |

im holding off on ordering mine until i know that it will work in the old style 148gtl as well as the new version with the 4 pin mic plug. i have been searching around and it seems that no one has an old 148 that they are willing to experiment with. if anyone has any info on this please post it, as i really want to try this. matt |

Nightprowler, I will have to call Customer Service tomorrow and find out for you but it will be tomorrow afternoon if I can call before they close for the day. Or you can give them a call at: 1-800-626-6343 and ask. You can use the insulators already in your radio and just apply new heat sink compound or just use the heat sink compound. I wish these would have been availble ten years ago when I was repairing radios...I would have had a blast. I might have to try these out sometime. I'm curious though, what exactly are these companion parts... Diodes? like they used on some of the export radios? |

OK I read this and followed the link 808 provided,,,,, I am cornfused,,,,,,, ERF-2030 is a mechanical drop-in replacement for the 2SC1969, 2SC2166 and 2SC2312. ERF-2030 has been designed as a TO-220 package with the same pinout configuration as the 2SC1969, 2SC2166 and 2SC2312 and requires NO mechanical modifications for most installations. ERF-2030 is NOT an electrical drop-in replacement for the 2SC1969, 2SC2166 and 2SC2312 because some circuit modification is required for replacement So is it a drop in replacement or isnt it? What am I misreading? |

Thanx Lon, Reason i put the question on was there was an AX-144 for auction here that apparently had the 2030 mod already done. I e-mailed the seller for more info but all he would tell me was it put out a bit over 20w after the new finals were done, but would not go any further as to what extra parts from the list were actually needed. I'd like to get mine done but wasn't willing to go after a starting bid of $250....guy must have been smoking crack to want that for a 144....lol. Cheers Mate.
