i wish. just got a raggedy looking S9, but it works. when time allows-and i can find my bench thru the construction-i'm thinking about combining the freq mods. it has an 8 position band switch, BUT, the capability to cover 11 bands of 40 ch each, from 25.615-30.555. it can also be 'progammed' to cover 26-32.990. my 1st thought(when i got my 1st S9), was to put either a 12 position switch in it, or hi/lo band switch (like the ss158 uses). and/or add an external switch so you could move the jumper settings at will, without having to open the radio, to cover 25.615-32.990. however, i have yet to experiment to see just how well this radio covers nearly 7.4 mHz of bandwidth. if it even can. another thought, & possibly most important, is why not 12 meters? IF it WILL cover 7+ mHz of space, WHY go over 30 mHz?? why not go down to 24 instead?? what about the delta/omega? they go even closer to 12 meters-25.165 mHz. i wonder if the cpu can be soft modded like the ar3500 to get 12? SAM-what about 12 meters in the magnums, rather then going up past 10? |

That would be awesome. A lot of wasted space, for most people, above say 28.500mhz anyway. 24.930mhz and up would be much better. |

Pat. If you disconnect the swr warning switch (wire it on or off, your choice) and run the wires to JP3 and have JP1 allready jumpered, then program (with switch off) the frequencies and their positions on the front switch. This will give you what you want, it's what I did. You will have the radio set up just how you want it with 8 bands right where you want them. If you want more coverage, just flip the switch in the back and you have it all! Only problem is when you flip the switch it will do nothing till you turn the radio off, then back on to reset the cpu. Mine was programmed to cover all of 11 and all of 10 plus some, then if I flipped the switch I had it all! Jumper settings should look like this: JP1=on JP2=OFF JP3=switched JP4=off BC |

Build it in 10/12 and I'm interested again...add 6 meters and you got a deal! You can even "lose" the FM just to make room ...hurry Sam I'm looking at HF+6 rigs as I type! Hank~CEF559/CEFHAM242 11mtr Northeast Net Control Eastern Long Island NY
