Hey Dave, talkback lets you hear your voice thur the speaker, you can see how bad you sound, northern or southern accent, whatever. LOL, also makes your power mike squeal like a stuck pig when you turn it up a little, especially on a base, but if you like to hear your voice, you can run about 60-70 % mod and listen and listen.

Is there anyway to install a "Rodger Beep" into the Melaka or just buy a MIC that has this capability?

Well got it out of the box and I have some ? It dead keys 7 and swings to 15 on AM.< on FM it will only do 7 with no swing (Iknow no swing on FM)ON SSB I get only 12 watts I paid 30$ for peak and tune, is that all I can get? 12 watts rms on sideband is not much \. 7 watts on FM is low I think. Do I need to do anything to it? I thought that when I paid 30$ for the conversion and a peak and tune that it would do more.

The UTB-1 from RF Limited is the best variable TB I've used to date. Copper should carry it, call and ask.

I found and put a 6800uf cap in my Melaka It sure is a whole lot less noisy The cap that I put in is a 50v allowing the pwr supply to "breath" a bit more
The one that was in was 1000uf at 25v
